Thanks For the Memories

I used to be right
until I met
a girl poet
plunging
rhyme,
reason,
religion
and
roll-on deodorant
out my bathroom window.

The dog got sick
The landlord got serious.
The neighbors got eyes.
I got quiet;
wrote the scene
in my fiction
a comedy
to remember her by.
